Sabbat Songs — “The Contract” by Purson

One of my favorite new artists from the 2010s is a British band called Purson, which I believe has already disbanded. They were fronted by the bewitching Rosalie Cunningham, who is even more arresting in person than she is in her photos. Purson takes its name from one of the 72 Goetic spirits from the Lesser Key of Solomon, and their musical style is reminiscent of late 1960’s/early 1970’s Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Uriah Heep. Some people might debate whether this band is truly “metal,” but I happily include them in the genre because they sound exactly like heavy metal sounded back in 1972. (Yes, Virginia, metal existed before Metallica.) Plus, they toured with bands like Electric Wizard and Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats when they were still together, and those guys are all heavy as fuck. Since today is Valentine’s Day, I figured I’d dedicate today’s Sabbat Song for my crush Rosalie, who is one of the grooviest witches on earth today. Happy Sabbat, and Set bless!
